Websense addresses BYOD

New solution combines web, data and mobile security with MDM features for BYOD

By Vera Alves, Auckland | Monday, 10 September 2012

Websense is joining the BYOD bandwagon with the release of a new solution that combines web and data security with mobile device management (MDM).

The company has launched the Triton Mobile Security solution in the New Zealand market and ANZ country manager Gerry Tucker says it is an opportunity for Websense partners "to deliver a more comprehensive security solution with associated services to their customers".

The new solution is a cloud-based service for Apple iOS devices on wireless mobile networks. According to Websense, this release is the third phase in the implementation of the company's mobile security vision.

The service has an on-demand VPN tunnel and analyses inbound and outbound data communications.

“Mobility and BYOD are rapidly increasing in the market as organisations take advantage of the benefits which mobilising a workforce provides," says Tucker. "The indications are that mobility is rapidly increasing in adoption by both enterprises and in government in New Zealand. Indeed, New Zealand appears to be ahead of global trends in the uptake of enterprise mobility, " he adds.

The company says the Triton solution can be rolled out by administrators by installing a profile to iOS devices and choosing the appropriate policy for company-owned or personal mobile devices.
