Warwick Grey returns to Renaissance
Joins as chief marketing officer in August
By Reseller News Staff, Auckland | Friday, 23 July 2010HP ANZ personal systems group marketing manager Warwick Grey is taking up the position of Renaissance chief marketing officer on Monday, August 23.
He is replacing Natalie Brown who has resigned.
Grey started Renaissance with his brother Trevor in 1989. The brothers grew the company from three employees to 30 and six years later sold it to pursue other interests.
Grey had previously worked as marketing manager for the HP personal systems group in New Zealand. He also worked at Microsoft as marketing manager for the small and medium business group and at Corel, a Canadian software company.
"I am really looking forward to joining Renaissance again. Its 21 years since my brother Trevor and I started the business and with the terrific vision that Richard Webb has for Renaissance now seems like a great time to return," says Grey.
CEO Richard Webb says it selected Grey due to his wide range of experience in a number of technology areas.
"This will really help us transform Renaissance."

The Renaissance business is actually pretty solid, apart from a bad result last year, the company has a good range of products and is also building a solid new management team. Transitions always take a little time. These new guys will certainly drive further growth and profit in the company. People should stop trying to put them down, they have been around for a long time they employ about 400 Kiwi's and are a NZ company battling it out against huge overseas distributors. Why not get in behind them.

All I can say is he has his work cut out for him. All of the new management have an uphill battle to try and restore the name - it has a terrible reputation in the local market and only thing going for it is the Apple distribution however that will change.................

This is a great move for the company, and a welcome return to New Zealand for Warwick Grey. The guy is extremely well respected in the industry and is of a very high calibre. Lets hope he can make a real difference and help grow the business.

I have worked with Renaissance in the past and I cant say I was impressed. However, I have also worked with Joanna Burgess, Lynne Stephens and Warwick Grey for several years and if they believe the distributor has potential and are supporting them by joining their team, then I have no doubt Renaissance will become a worthy competitor in the market! Wise move by the disti...
