Former Sun Microsystems country manager John Mazenier is one of five staff to have left the vendor to join NSC Group, an Australian-based integrator which is setting up two offices in New Zealand.

NSC’s New Zealand country manager Mark Wallendorf says Mazenier began at the company on 1 July, as a Wellington-based sales executive.

When Reseller News contacted Sun Microsystems’ Wellington office, it was told Mazenier had not been replaced.

NSC registered with the New Zealand Companies Office last August, and Sydney-based managing director Craig Neil told Reseller News in May that Avaya and Sun Microsystems will account for about 85 percent of the cost of goods sold here.

He said at the time that his company had employed five ex-Sun personnel here and more than 20 in Australia.

Mazier returned to New Zealand from Australia in March 2007 to take up a promotion to Sun Microsystems' country manager, after being its ANZ service practice manager. He was previously its client solutions manager in New Zealand, and before that was Datacom’s general manager of professional services in Wellington.

Reseller News has not yet been unable to contact Mazenier.
