Ingram Micro signs on Elgato
Distie brings on manufacturer of HD-recording and playback solutions for Mac and PC
By Reseller News Staff, Auckland | Tuesday, 13 November 2012Ingram Micro has signed a distribution agreement with manufacturer of HD-recording and playback solutions for Mac and PC, Elgato.
Elgato's solutions are also compatible with Apple and Android mobile devices.
One of its most popular products, The EyeTV Mobile TV tuner, is a small accessory that turns an iPad or iPhone into a Freeview TV. The company also manufactures a range of wireless streaming video devices and HD video and game capture solutions.
“With the massive growth in video content, people are looking for solutions that make creating, distributing and consuming that content – particularly on their mobile devices - easier. Elgato’s products let you consume HD video content where and how you want and combine the power that professionals are looking for with the ease-of-use that consumers need and demand," says Kelly Eyerman, Ingram Micro’s senior business manager, Apple Division.
“Elgato’s products are very innovative, extremely intuitive and simple to use, and we’re thrilled to be adding Elgato to our rapidly expanding stable of best-of-breed Apple-compatible and mobile vendors,” she adds.
"Ingram Micro is the ideal partner to help us increase sales into New Zealand's retail and reseller channels," says Sylvia Schaller, Elgato's director, Sales Europe & APAC. "With their experience and company history, we feel fortunate to have them representing Elgato's entertainment, storage, and gaming products."
Eyerman says the new distribution agreement takes effect immediately and Ingram Micro is getting stock of Elgato products in its warehouse this week.
