Cyclone Computers gets AoG iPad deal
Local company to supply Apple iPads through the All-of-Government contract
By Reseller News Staff, Auckland | Monday, 14 January 2013Cyclone Computers has been confirmed as the main Apple iPad supplier through the All-of-Government (AoG) contract.
The local private company is servicing participating AoG agencies in both the education and non-education sector.
“We relish the opportunity and challenge to work alongside creative mobile users with innovative products and unique applications. The outcomes of iPad use are really changing the way we work and learn. These are exciting times,” says the Cyclone Computer's general manager Graham Prentice.
“Winning this supply contract is significant in that it has enabled a local private company to fairly compete and win business within the highly competitive ICT and government contracts world,” he adds.
According to Prentice, “the AoG process was created to centralise negotiations and produce savings for both the tax payer and the participating agencies”. “Over the last 2 years this has clearly been achieved for each party. The resulting impact has been to significantly reduce margins for the resellers/ vendors. Cyclone has had to adjust to this changing environment – but because of its size, has been nimble enough to adjust quickly and also retain good customer service – hard to do in bigger public company environments," he adds.
