Blue Coat announces virtual appliance for branch offices
Offering to ship in November
By Reseller News Staff, Auckland | Thursday, 27 September 2012Web security and WAN optimisation provider Blue Coat Systems will roll out a virtual web gateway designed for branch offices, the company announced.
The Secure Web Gateway Virtual Appliance extends to branch office locations with limited space and IT resources the same depth of protection delivered by Blue Coat's existing appliances and cloud offerings, the company says.
Gateway Virtual Appliance is targeted at organisations seeking to consolidate infrastructure, according to a statement released today. The solution can be deployed on a virtualised server, putting remote office infrastructure on a common platform and reducing demand for local hardware and software resources.
The Gateway Virtual Appliance also delivers the same policy controls as Blue Coat's ProxySG appliances, and is considered part of what the company calls its Unified Security solution. The Virtual Appliance will be available in November, the company says.
