Attachmate group appoints country manager
Martin Mooney takes the reins in New Zealand
By Reseller News Staff, Auckland | Wednesday, 17 August 2011The Attachmate Group has appointed Martin Mooney as its New Zealand country manager.
According to a statement released by the company, Mooney will be responsible for developing "market opportunities" for its four business units--Attachmate, NetIQ, Novell and SUSE--in this country.
Mooney has been with the Attachmate Group since 2007, when he started out as territory manager for Attachmate and NetIQ, its enterprise software management products. Prior to Attachmate , Mooney worked with Datacom, both in a technical and business capacity, and as country manager for Foundry Networks, Compuware and F5, according to a statement.
“[Mooney] has played a vital role in driving much of our company and customer success in New Zealand,” Attachmate APAC VP and GM Boris Ivancic says in the statement.
Attachmate completed the US$2.2 billion acquisition of Novell in April. Attachmate spun out Novell's SUSE enterprise Linux solutions as a separate group.
“The addition of Novell and SUSE to The Attachmate Group furthers our ability to help customers extend, manage and secure their increasingly complex IT environments. Our broader portfolio ensures that we can offer...a full range of complementary solutions and additional resources,” Mooney says in the statement.
Attachmate Group offerings now include solutions for IT operations management, host connectivity and legacy modernisation, security, virtualisation and cloud computing, among others, according to the company's statement.
