Gen-i's Australasian CEO Chris Quin and local Dell country manager Mike Hill have been appointed to the NZICT board.

Chair Geoff Lawrie, the country manager of Cisco, says there was strong interest from a range of high calibre candidates.

Quin says he hopes to bring a fresh perpective on how NZICT can enhance the provision of ICT in New Zealand. Hill, meanwhile, says he aims to promote issues such as ICT in schools and ICT’s role in protecting the environment.

Other board members are Andrew Hunt of Kinetics Group, Bennett Medary from Simpl, IBM Asia Pacific's Daryl French, David Stone from the Telecommunication Carriers' Forum, Microsoft's Kevin Ackhurt, Rhoda Holmes from Raghnall, Hyperion Management Services' Pat Rossiter and Ace Training's Tony Skelton.
