Distie hails massive GFI price slash as positive

Forty-five percent cut will help sell more products

By Hamish Barwick, Auckland | Friday, 22 February 2008

Security software vendor GFI cutting the pricing on selected products by 45 percent is seen as a good move by its local distributor.
Soft Solutions business development manager Paul Leslie has welcomed the reductions.
“I see it as a very positive move by GFI. The products are suitable to the New Zealand market and getting the price point right is key. We are going to make less money on the sale, but I expect we will be able to sell more of the products.”
GFI Australia and New Zealand regional manager Michael Early agrees partners will be able to make more sales.
“They still get a percentage of the sale and it also means businesses in the SME space will be able to access our products at better prices.”
He adds that the reductions only apply to MailEssentials, MailSecurity, MailArchiver, Faxmaker and EventsManager. The price changes took effect from February 14.
GFI is distributed by both Soft Solutions and Wellington-based Observatory Crest.
