Indigo Software ventures into online learning

Custom designed or out-of-the-box courses through Element-K

Wellington-based IT products and services company Indigo Software has launched a `one stop shop' online learning centre for its customers known as Indigolearn.

General manager Patrick McKay says the centre will offer custom designed or out-of-the-box courses through Element-K.

The training ranges from management and leadership courses to health and safety. There are also courses on how to use basic Microsoft or IBM products.

“Element-K is very well known for its courses and they’ve worked with IBM to develop e-learning solutions. As we’re an IBM business partner, we immediately saw the potential of these courses.”

He says Indigolearn is a great way to deliver training to staff over vast geographical areas, or for companies wanting to up skill staff with specific training at their own pace and online.

“We’ve heard of companies paying up to $1200 a day to send staff on training courses. This can be non-productive and expensive.”

McKay adds that courses can be monitored by management to see which team members have done the work, passed or failed.
“It’s an easy way to focus requirements to specific team members' strengths and weaknesses.”

The company is initially targeting the ANZ market with Indigolearn.
