The first day of Microsoft's 14th annual developer conference kicked off to the sound of African drums and ended with laughter at the Tech Girls dinner. In between, delegates heard from Microsoft's CFO Chris Liddell and attended sessions on subjects such as Windows Azure. Tech Ed continues until Wednesday in Auckland.
