Sales coup for Lincoln Ventures' Irricad Pro software

Global deal with irrigation manufacturer a boost for business

Lincoln Ventures, a local technology company owned by Lincoln University, has signed an agreement with a world-leading, micro-irrigation equipment manufacturer Netafim to supply its CAD software Irricad Pro.
The software simplifies irrigation system design.
Netafim has 30 subsidiaries and 11 manufacturing sites around the world.
Lincoln Ventures chief executive Graeme Robertson says the Israeli company came to it after doing a survey of available software.
“They sent out two engineers from Israel to assess our company and we made changes to the software for their requirements.”
Robertson points out Irricad Pro was already on the market, though Lincoln Ventures made
15 changes to the software.
“We developed a product to meet their criteria and ultimately have delivered a more sophisticated solution than what they were using previously. It’s really exciting as it’s a bit like selling coal to Newcastle. We had 500 users, but this is steadily growing thanks to the Netafim deal.”
He adds that Lincoln Ventures has a distribution agreement in the US and South America.
