Security specialist distributor Chillisoft has secured the Australia/New Zealand rights to software from European vendor CoSoSys, which manages backup and security of external storage devices.

The products are Carry It Easy, aimed at small businesses and home office users who want to securely back up or compress data on a USB drive, and Secure It Easy, an endpoint security system. It has also taken on the enterprise level version of Secure It Easy – Endpoint Protector.

Managing director of Chillisoft, Geoff Cossey, says the products are an “elegant solution to a common problem”.

“SOHO computer users…struggle to pinpoint the identity and location of important files to back up. Carry it Easy does it automatically, without requiring the user to navigate file structures and select the right files for backing up,” Cossey says.

A key potential market for the software is Australian councils, which are becoming increasingly concerned with the privacy of stored customer data, he says.

The software currently only supports PCs, but Cossey says a Mac version of Endpoint Security will soon be released.
