Gen-i has signed an agreement with Mahindra Satyam, the brand identity of Satyam Computer Services, which aims to reduce cost and complexity for customers migrating to Windows 7.

Gen-i's professional services general manager Murray Young says its partnerships with Mahindra Satyam and Microsoft enable it to manage client transformation programmes "rapidly, efficiency and cost effectively".

"We are able to support regional trans-Tasman enterprises with Windows 7 migration strategies both at a local level as well as across New Zealand and Australia. Our regional model means clients can cost-effectively roll out Windows 7 with the benefits of a local partner and the support of trans-Tasman expertise and experience,” concludes Mr. Young.

CP Gurnani, CEO of Mahindra Satyam, says the agreement will "enable customers to realise an improved user experience with greater reliability and total cost of ownership".

Mahindra Satyam's migration services include tools for automated testing, automated remediation, and packaging for Vista, Windows 7 and App-V for enterprise automation of remediation requirements. It says these services will help to reduce compatibility testing and remediation costs.

Microsoft's Australian based Windows 7 commercial group lead, Sarah Vaughan, says services such as automated testing will "dramatically reduce overheads for enterprises, allowing them to accelerate their deployment".
