Sybase touts MicroStrategy BI offerings

Customers to benefit from BI services and vendor-to-vendor technical support

Enterprise and mobile software company Sybase will offer integrated packaging and pricing, in a promotion on business intelligence software vendor MicroStrategy products when sold with Sybases' IQ analytics server.

The two companies have collaborated for 10 years on different offerings.

According to Sybase customers will benefit from integrated packaging, joint product certification and vendor-to-vendor technical support. It will also offer MicroStrategy consulting services and education, providing access to a range of combined services related to business intelligence.

IDC programme vice president of business analytics, Dan Vesset, says business intelligence and data warehousing offerings are expected to take on an increasing value in the present economic environment.

"IDC believes the extension of the alliance between Sybase and MicroStrategy will simplify the acquisition, deployment and use of the combined solution, thus helping customers maximise the value of their BI investments."
