Ingram and Intersell launch e-commerce tools

Strong reseller interest after launch at Showcase events

Ingram Micro says it has had strong interest from a varied mix of resellers since launching e-commerce products at its recent Showcase events.

The local launch is an extension of its Australian partnership with Intersell, which developed the products. They are Techlink4U, used to create e-commerce websites which take information directly from Ingram’s TechLink site, QuoteBuilder for creating and distributing HTML-based quotes and Licence Tracker to manage customer licensing. Licence Tracker is a module within QuoteBuilder.

Ingram Micro sales operations manager Craig McEwan says the launch has attracted interest from a large reseller base along with one-man-bands.

“We’re going after resellers that are struggling to keep their own platforms up to date or don’t have an e-commerce platform.”

He adds other partners are considering the offering to service customers who order a lot of products, rather than manage these orders by email.

TechLink4U costs $4950 plus GST, with a monthly fee of $165 for hosting, the direct feed from Ingram Micro’s site, integration to the gateway payment provider and administration costs. To get QuoteBuilder as well, the fees are $7770 and $220 a month.

Australian-based Intersell general manager Wayne Troy says the suite’s products are quick to implement, easy to use and backed by support, account management and ongoing product development.

Across the Tasman there are 150 active sites resulting from the partnership, McEwan says.

However, he says the distributor will not follow the sales model used there, whereby Intersell initially approaches resellers. In New Zealand, the products’ business development manager Kevin Watson will garner interest, to be followed up by Intersell.
