There was a buzz in the air at Pulse IT after the company won the Best Built on Express Solution for its work with Sir George Seymour College, as well as the People’s Choice Award, at last year’s IBM Business Partner Awards.

That recognition is helping the Auckland company with pitches for new business, says managing director Ryan Balemi.

“On all our marketing material I’ve included the awards we won. What I’ve found is as I’m doing pitches, we don’t have to talk about the awards because people bring them up in conversation. It just adds more weight to the pitch.”

He says one of the best aspects of the win was the recognition his staff got for their work on the project with Sir George Seymour College. The solution allowed the College to replace its traditional server system and provide support for 1000 users.

“It’s nice we can be awarded for a job we’ve done well at and that the customer was impressed with. It puts us in a good position when we’re hitting the education system with this offering. And when it is backed by an award it is in the solution’s favour.”

Balemi is keen to see his company on the winner’s stage again this year.

“I’ve got one or two projects I’m going to submit for this year’s awards and see how they go.”
