By Ashleigh Allsopp, London | Wednesday, 10 October 2012Apple is on track to begin production of a 13in MacBook Pro with Retina display this quarter, according to NPD DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim.
Shim told CNET that Apple's plans for the rumoured MacBook, which would join the 15in Retina MacBook Pro that was launched earlier this year, have seen no changes and are still on course for production to start imminently.
The smaller Retina MacBook will have a 13.3in, 2,560-by-1,600 pixel display, Shim claims.
It is not yet clear when (or even if) Apple will launch a 13in MacBook Pro with Retina display, but Shin suggests that it could be unveiled after the iPad mini is announced, which could happen this month according to the latest rumours.
Previous reports have suggested that the 13in Retina MacBook Pro will be launched this month, and that the laptop will have 8GB RAM.
In July, benchmarks for a new MacBook Pro that is believed to be the 13in Retina model were spotted on Geekbench.
